What is Vision?
Vision is a DISCLOSURE from God, a word from Him, which allows His people to look BEYOND the present. The first two chapters of Nehemiah suggest the following principles of vision:
- Vision starts with raw facts (Nehemiah 1:1-3).
- The birth of vision has labor pains (Nehemiah 1:4-11).
- Accomplishing vision includes covering distance (Nehemiah 1:11).
- Vision will surface because it cannot be contained (Nehemiah 2:1-4).
- God uses circumstances to crystallize vision (Nehemiah 2:5-8, esp. v5).
- Vision always encounters opposition (Nehemiah 2:9-10).
- True vision originates with God Himself (Nehemiah 2:11-16, esp. v12).
- Vision communicates the heart of God (Nehemiah 2:17-20).
